Minister of State for Petroleum Dr Musadik Malik said on Thursday that the stocks of petrol and diesel in the country were sufficient for 20 and 30 days, respectively.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, he said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had directed to make sure there was no petrol shortage in the country. “Those who are stocking petrol and diesel will face the music,” the minister said, adding, “However, no will be bothered unnecessarily.”

Musadik informed that 900 petrol pumps were checked in Faisalabad and Sargodha yesterday, adding all pumps would be checked in order to ensure that none could stock these commodities.

The minister vowed not sit idle until and unless the artificial shortage of petrol was overcome. He said that the association of dealers had assured the government they did not support the hoarders. NNI
