Pakistan Jordan Seal Historic Partnership With Mous In Media Culture And Education

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif hosted Jordan’s King Abdullah II at the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad, where the two leaders held in-depth talks aimed at bolstering strategic, economic, and cultural ties between Pakistan and Jordan.

The high-level discussions, attended by senior officials and federal ministers, focused on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, health, science and technology, education, and defense. The meeting also featured a detailed exchange of views on regional security and peace initiatives.

Both leaders agreed to enhance coordination among the eight Arab and Islamic nations working with the United States on the Gaza ceasefire and the Gaza Peace Plan signed in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. They emphasized a shared commitment to post-war Gaza, firmly rejecting any displacement of Palestinians.

King Abdullah praised Pakistan for its consistent support of Jordan’s role in maintaining regional stability and its humanitarian efforts during and after the Gaza conflict. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif described the King’s visit as a testament to the “enduring friendship” between the two nations and briefed him on recent developments in Pakistan’s neighborhood, particularly in Afghanistan and India.

The meeting concluded with the signing of memorandums of understanding in media, culture, and education, marking a significant step toward closer bilateral cooperation. To honor the visiting monarch, the Prime Minister hosted a grand banquet attended by senior officials and dignitaries.

The visit is seen as a milestone in Pakistan-Jordan relations, expected to usher in a new era of strengthened ties, regional cooperation, and shared commitment to peace and stability.

During the summit, PM Shehbaz briefed King Abdullah on developments in Pakistan’s neighborhood, particularly Afghanistan and India, with the Jordanian monarch acknowledging Pakistan’s pivotal role in regional stability. The two sides witnessed the signing of memorandums of understanding in media, culture, and education, further cementing bilateral ties.

King Abdullah arrived in Islamabad for a two-day official visit, where he was warmly received by President Asif Ali Zardari, PM Shehbaz Sharif, First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and other senior officials. The visiting monarch was honored with a Guard of Honour at the Prime Minister House and planted a ceremonial sapling, marking the official reception.
