QUETTA – In a historic first for Balochistan, the district administration convened a jirga to address women’s issues in the district of Awaran.
This initiative was spearheaded by Deputy Commissioner Engineer Aisha Zahri, and it was attended by female doctors, educators, college students, and women councilors.
During the event, participants presented recommendations aimed at empowering women, including the establishment of a Vocational Training and Embroidery Center, addressing furniture shortages at the girls’ college, and providing transportation for female students.
Authorities provided assurances to implement the proposals.
At the conclusion of the jirga, attendees praised the district administration’s efforts and expressed their commitment to provide all necessary support.
Women in Balochistan province of Pakistan face numerous challenges, including limited access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities. Despite these obstacles, many women are resilient and strive for change.
