Hina Javed left home behind quiet life built around work and caring for her parents. But the routine of a Rawalpindi woman took a horrifying turn when her family found her dead inside her home with her hands tied and a wire around her neck.
Her husband and domestic worker have been arrested as police investigate the shocking death. The case was registered at Civil Lines police station on the complaint of Hina’s brother Fahad Javed Malik. Her husband, father-in-law and domestic worker were named in the FIR while police have so far arrested the husband and domestic worker.
Fahad got an emergency call from his brother-in-law’s house at around 6:05am on August 20. He reached the house an hour later, where he found his sister dead inside the bathroom. The family said Hina’s hands were tied behind her back and her mouth was covered with a cloth. A white electrical wire had reportedly been tied around her neck and secured to the shower.
Police observed signs of blood and foam coming from her mouth while blood was found on the bathroom floor.
The grief-stricken family is said to be in shock and mental distress and cannot understand how all of this happened, saying its not an accident and Hina was murdered by her husband with the alleged involvement of the domestic worker and father-in-law.
The FIR also includes allegation that Hina may have been given a poisonous substance before being tortured and killed. These allegations are yet to be established by investigators.
Fahad further alleged that his brother-in-law regularly subjected Hina to violence and claimed that the accused’s first wife had also previously obtained a divorce after allegedly suffering abuse.
Police collected evidence from the crime scene and completed Hina’s post-mortem examination. The medical report is still awaited. The arrested suspects are yet to be presented before a court. He said the investigation was continuing and the suspects would be produced before the court to seek physical remand based on the findings.
Family remembered Hina as a warm-hearted and compassionate woman who maintained close relationships with relatives. Hina was the middle of three siblings and regularly visited her parents. Her mother was suffering from advanced Alzheimer’s disease while her father had Parkinson’s disease and Hina was described by the family as their sole financial provider.
Hina reportely worked at National Assembly for around 15 years and was known for being hardworking and committed. However family members noticed a change in her personality following her marriage in November 2025.
She became quieter and more withdrawn and stopped talking openly about her life. Her family also noticed that she no longer appeared as enthusiastic about her work as she had been before.
In a statement shared on X the family described Hina as “a daughter a sister and a friend” and said she was a young woman whose dreams and future had been taken away. The family also urged authorities to ensure that those responsible face justice under the law.
They stressed that domestic violence and violence against women should not be treated as private family matters but as serious crimes requiring legal action.
