ISLAMABAD – Pakistani government is taking stern measures to boost revenue and now the country’s top tax collection authority FBR has given a chance to earn prize money by reporting irregulated invoices.

The federal agency announced new prize scheme for customers of integrated tier-1 retailers aimed at encouraging the reporting of unverified invoices issued by large retailers.

The new offer was made through amendment in the Sales Tax Rules of 2006, as customers who report unverified invoices will be eligible for rewards based on their purchases.

Report Fake Invoices in Pakistan

If you want to rake some ready money, you can report an unverified invoice via a designated application or WhatsApp number.

As per FBR guidelines, the citizen needs to provide basic details, including full name, ID Card number, contact number, IBAN, and proof of digital payment, along with a picture of the unverified invoice and retailer’s business premises.

Once you report, an alert will be generated in IRIS system, and the invoice will be determined for the customer’s eligibility.

Incentivizing the reporting of fake invoices could deter fraud and recover lost revenue, but it also poses risks as businesses are concerned about false reporting, increased administrative burdens, and a culture of mistrust.
