Two-year graduation and masters degree are not considered equivalent to a four-year bachelor’s degree and MS in several contexts including meeting minimum credit hours and for market relevance as well.
To address this issue, Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan issued new warning to students and parents against enrolling in two-year Bacherlor of Arts, and Science BA, BSc, and Masters in Arts and Science MA, and MSc degree programs.
BA BSC Degrees in Pakistan
HEC phased out these programs, setting extended deadlines for the academic years 2019 and June 30, 2022, respectively.
Despite this, some higher education institutions continued to admit students to these programs after the deadlines. As a result, HEC informed that degrees from these programs will not be recognized or attested.
As per its Ordinance, HEC said colleges offering these degrees are not affiliated with State educational system.
Higher Education Commission also urged students, parents and stakeholders to avoid getting admission in these programmes as degrees obtained from such programmes do not qualify for recognition and attestation by statutory body.
