Chairperson Senate Standing Committee Maritime Affairs Affairs & PML-N senior leader Nuzhat Amir Sadiq said that good health is the right of all. Health-damaging factors must be addressed in a timely manner. The Health Levy Bill stands by the issue, will play its positive role.
She said this during a meeting with Sana Ullah Ghumman, General Secretary, Pakistan National Heart Association (PANAH). On the occasion, Senator Zahat Amir Sadiq praised the PANAH efforts. PANAH General Secretary Sana Ullah Ghumman said that PANAH has been educating the people about heart diseases for the last 36 years. A healthy lifestyle, a balanced diet, proper exercise, smoking cessation, stress management, diabetes and high blood pressure are all messages of PANAH, so that the heart is strong.
General Secretary Sana Ullah Ghumman said that one of the major causes of various diseases including heart, cancer, diabetes and stomach is smoking and regular consumption of sugary drinks. The Health Levy Bill was passed by the federal cabinet two years ago to save the health of the people. To date, this has not been implemented. This is a matter of public health, not a joke. Government are the guarantors of public health. Nuzhat Amir Sadiq is a respected member of the Senate, from whom PANAH requests that the voice of PANAH be conveyed to the relevant institutions of the government.
