Federal Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb on Thursday said that the Lahore High Court decision on the Punjab Chief Minister election was misreported by the media and that the court did not remove Hamza as chief minister nor did it reinstate Usman Buzdar as the caretaker chief minister.
The court has not nullified the election and this decision is the “continuation of the previous election” process, she said addressing a press conference that she held to respond to Imran Khan’s latest claims. Until the re-election is held by 4pm today (Friday) Hamza Shahbaz continues to hold the position of the Punjab chief minister, said the federal information minister.
She said that the PTI first distributed sweets and termed the LHC verdict a victory for democracy but then said that it would challenge the verdict in the Supreme Court.
