Takes notice of diesel shortage

Newly appointed Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz has reviewed the law and order situation especially the security measures being taken for the safety of foreigners particularly Chinese nationals in the province.

CM Hamza chaired a security meeting in Lahore on Sunday. The meeting took stock of the security situation in the province.

It deliberated on the steps being taken for the safety of people on the Eid occasion.

Hamza ordered fool-proof security for the Chand Raat and Eid congregations. He also directed to make district law and order committees active. He asked the public representatives to play their role in the improvement of law and order situation in their respective districts.

The chief minister directed authorities to take steps for the elimination of one-wheeling and take legal action against those who would do this dangerous stunt during Eid days.

The IG police and other concerned officers briefed the meeting regarding security measures.

The meeting was attended by Senator Rana Maqbool Ahmad, Awais Leghari, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, Jehangir Khanzada, Zeeshan Rafiq, Ataullah Tarar, chief secretary, IG police, additional home chief secretary, principal secretary to CM and other concerned officials.

Meanwhile Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Hamza Shahbaz Sharif also took a strict notice of diesel shortage in some cities of the province and ordered the administration to take indiscriminate action against hoarders.

He directed to take all possible steps to ensure the availability of diesel and ordered the administration to regularly check petrol pumps in their respective districts.

He remarked that farmers are his brothers and he fully understands their problems. CM maintained that contact with the federal government to ensure uninterrupted supply of diesel should be made forthwith.

CM chaired an important meeting at CMO to ascertain the reasons behind the shortage of diesel and steps being taken to ensure its availability in the province..MPAs Awais Leghari, Malik Ahmad Khan, Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal, Ajmal Cheema Ramzan Siddique Bhatti, Atta Tarar, Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary to CM concerned Secretaries Commissioner Lahore division and DC Lahore attended the meeting while Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners attended the meeting via video link.
