Hamdard Shura for fostering patriotism, awareness about national spirit among people

The Hamdard Shura Thinkers’ Forum was established by a prolific visionary, Shaheed Hakim Mohammed to guide the nation, allowing intellectuals and visionaries to discuss and provide academic and practical recommendations on the country’s challenges. Pakistan faces various internal and external challenges, so it becomes imperative that through this forum we foster patriotism, awareness, and national spirit among the people.

These views were expressed by General (r) Moinuddin Haider, the Speaker of Hamdard Shura Karachi chapter, during the joint session of Hamdard Shura held online, chaired by Ms. Sadia Rashid, the President of Hamdard Foundation Pakistan. The speakers and deputy speakers from all four centers i.e. Rawalpindi/Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar and Karachi participated in the meeting. In the meeting, General (Rtd) Moinuddin Haider voiced concern about the external challenges confronting the nation, such as the Pakistan-Iran border dispute.

He underscored the importance of Pakistan reconstructing its diplomatic and commercial ties with neighboring countries. Strengthening the nation’s defense should be a priority. Additionally, discussions should address the complexities and obstacles in implementing a uniform national curriculum.Dr. Adnan Sarwar Khan, the Speaker of Hamdard Shura Peshawar, emphasized the importance of discussing the golden rules and orders of Shariah, with a specific focus on women’s inheritance.

“Despite being an Islamic state, the infringement upon women’s rights is a stain on our society.

The prevalence of political and social intolerance, along with violence, has become widespread. It is imperative to raise awareness from this platform. Additionally, there is a need to enlighten the public about Pakistan’s defense and military capabilities.

The prevailing sentiments of animosity and distrust towards state institutions among a few segments of society are detrimental to the state. To bridge this gap, the Hamdard Shura must play a role,” he said.Deputy Speaker, Hamdard Shura Lahore, Mian Muhammad Akram said that it was important to promote business ethics in the country through the monthly meetings of Hamdard Shura.

The current artificial inflation has led to a surge in the prices of essential food items, with inflationists being directly responsible for increased crime and corruption. Stringent legal actions should be taken against these elements. The rising trend of youth turning towards narcotics is alarming and needs discouragement. Hamdard Shura should discuss Corruption in length as in national and state institutions, it has caused various social problems. There is a necessity to establish an accountability mechanism with the aid of modern technology to curb corruption.Umar Zaheer Mir from Lahore requested the members to discuss the importance of alternative energy sources, particularly solar energy.

“To stabilize the economy, further promotion of Islamic banking is essential. We must promote it through the monthly meetings of Shura. Moreover, considering the majority of the population is under 30 years of age, Hamdard Shura should discuss the necessity to introduce short-term courses aimed at their skill and moral training. Additionally, inviting students from various universities to Hamdard Shura meetings would be beneficial,” he said.Professor Niaz Irfan, Speaker of Hamdard Shura Rawalpindi/Islamabad, called for highlighting the preservation of the Islamic identity of the nation and the promotion of the Urdu language in the country.

To raise awareness about the significance and practicality of modern scientific advancements, such topics should be deliberated upon in this esteemed forum dedicated to Shaheed Pakistan Hakim Mohammed Said. To uplift the spirits of the nation, especially the youth, and to motivate them, accomplished youth from diverse fields should be invited as guests to the Hamdard Shura meetings. Ms. Sadia Rashid in concluding remarks highlighted that the establishment of the Hamdard Shura Thinkers Forum stands as a significant accomplishment in the national services of Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said.

His foresighted vision recognized the necessity of a think-tank that could impartially assess diverse issues and offer recommendations with practical solutions. These recommendations are intended to benefit relevant state departments. The esteemed members of the Shura have provided valuable and comprehensive suggestions.
