The monthly meeting of Hamdard Naunehal Assembly Karachi under the auspices of Hamdard Foundation was held yesterday at Bait-ul-Hikmah Auditorium,Madinat-ul-Hikmah on the theme: “In this age education is the cure for Ummah’s maladies.” Prof. Dr. Auj-e-Kamal, Head of Department of Mass Communication, Federal Urdu University, was invited as a guest speaker. National President Hamdard Naunehal Assembly Mrs. Sadia Rashid, and Vice-Chancellor Hamdard University Prof. Dr. Syed Shabib-ul-Hassan also attended the meeting.

Prof. Dr. Auj-e-Kamal in his address paid tribute to Hamdard Foundation Pakistan, the founder Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said, and Mrs. Sadia Rashid for their national services and said: “Through a balanced character-building educational framework, Hamdard has been laying the ground for the bright future of our younger generations.

The founding of Bait-ul-Hikmah and Hamdard University by Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said to teach eastern and western knowledge is a great accomplishment.

Education is only good if it is provided with training and character building. He said not all can be deemed educationists, this is a characteristic of great individuals, who not only signify the importance of education in society but also establish educational institutes. Without a doubt, Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said was a great educationist.

He expressed his happiness after seeing the confidence of young orators of Hamdard Naunehal Assembly and said for a brighter future of the country; government must follow the western model and adopt such children, thus sparing them from future worries about their career.

“Hamdard has been providing basic infrastructure, now the government should cooperate with Madinat-al-Hikmah. These children will do wonders in the future for the country,” he said.

Mrs. Sadia Rashid said: Allama Iqbal served as a great intellectual, who taught the Muslims of the subcontinent to break the shackles of mental and economic slavery.

In the present age, no nation can achieve development and prosperity without education, let alone maintain its independence.” She also said that the developed countries have imparted quality education to their new generation.

“They learned the art of living a civilized and orderly life, and it was a knowledge that made them aware that they should learn from their mistakes and avoid repeating wrong actions,” she said.

She added that Allama Iqbal felt the plight of the Muslims of the subcontinent as a disease and the healing prescription he prescribed for treatment was in fact a cure for all our problems.

Earlier, the assembly session began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Hafiz Ryan Hussain Ghauri, a student of Hamdard Public School, while Usrah Asif, a student of Hamdard Village School, presented Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).

Young speakers Subhana Bashir, Syed Muhammad Mudassir, Naveera Saeed, Fatima Siddiqui, and Syeda Maheen Shahid in their speeches said that the theme of Hamdard Naunehal Assembly reflected the thoughts of Allama Iqbal.

Education paves the way for the evolution and enhancement of human thoughts, and the formation of a good society.
