During the protest, PTI leaders including PTI Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh, along with Dua Khan, Moazzam Khan, Yasir Baloch, Anwar Mehdi, Raza Yasir, and over two dozen other workers were forcibly taken into custody. They were shifted to Preedy Police Station, according to PTI’s spokesperson.
The protest was triggered by the denial of permission to meet former Prime Minister Imran Khan, prompting supporters to take to the streets in frustration.
Haleem Adil Sheikh said authorities attacked their peaceful protest. Male police officers laid hands on women. We will not let this go. Tell us about Khan’s well-being; allow us to meet him. Shoot us if you want, we do not care for our lives, he said.
The dramatic crackdown has intensified political tension in Karachi, with residents witnessing road closures, heavy security, and public unrest, as PTI supporters demand answers and access to their leader.
