Opposition leader and Member Provincial Assembly of Sindh Haleem Adil Sheikh on Thursday rejected the poorly conducted local bodies elections in Sindh and their results. He expressed these views in a meeting with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Thursday here in Lahore.
While discussing the political conditions and the recent local body elections of Sindh, Imran Khan directed Haleem Adil Sheikh to raise and highlight this matter with full force coordinating with the provincial organization.
In the meeting, Imran Khan and Sheikh strongly condemned the retaliatory attacks against Tehreek-e-Insaf officials, members of National and Provincial Assembly and PTI workers from the Sindh Government and also the filing of fake cases and arrests of PTI workers and officials with the help of police and administration. Haleem Adil Sheikh said that he will not allow the mandate of Sindh, especially Karachi, to fall prey to People’s Party’s bullying and the incompetence of the Election Commission. First they eloped from the elections and when it was held, they came back as mobsters and tried to rob the mandate. We will fight the wrong as much as we can, staying within the limits and boundaries of the law and protecting the vote of the public of Sindh.
