Over 15 lac pilgrims flocked to Mount Arafat today on Saturday for the climax of the annual Hajj pilgrimage, engaging in hours of prayer. The Hajj 2024 sermon took place against backdrop of the ongoing situation in Gaza.

This year’s annual pilgrimage is being held amid an ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, prompting Sheikh Maher Al-Muaiqly, an imam of the Grand Mosque in Makkah, to emphasize cooperation and mutual assistance in his sermon at Masjid-e-Nimrah.

Saudi Imam urged pilgrims to pray for themselves, their parents, and their relatives, highlighting the importance of Sharia in leading a righteous life. He further prayed for Palestinians suffering from oppression and brutality, asking for Allah’s help for them.

This year, Hajjis are facing scorching heat due to climate change, with regional temperatures increasing by several notches.
