OUR defence industry reached another significant milestone with the unveiling of the state-of-the-art HAIDER tank by Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir during his visit to Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT). Speaking on the occasion, General Asim Munir also expressed his admiration for the technical prowess exhibited by the HAIDER tank and commended the collaborative efforts that led to its development.
Undoubtedly, the successful development and rollout of the HAIDER is yet another achievement for Pakistan’s defence production industry. This accomplishment underscores the nation’s capabilities in leveraging advanced technologies and fostering collaboration with strategic partners like China. It also reflects the country’s dedication to achieving self-reliance and indigenization in arms and armament production. In addition to the HAIDER tank, Pakistan has demonstrated its prowess in indigenous defence development through products such as the JF-17 thunder fighter jet. These endeavours highlight the nation’s ability to design and manufacture advanced military hardware tailored to its specific requirements. The close collaboration between Pakistan and China in developing the HAIDER tank is a testament to the strong bilateral ties between the two nations. It showcases the mutual trust and cooperation in advancing defence capabilities for both countries. The HAIDER tank boasts impressive firepower, protection and manoeuvrability. Equipped with advanced systems and weaponry, it enhances Pakistan’s capabilities on the battlefield, providing a formidable asset for national defence. Moving forward, Pakistan should continue its strides in building a robust defence industry with the support and collaboration of friendly countries like China. By leveraging international partnerships and sharing expertise, we can further enhance our indigenous defence capabilities and strengthen national security posture. Furthermore, it is imperative for us to showcase our defence products to the global market for export opportunities. Exporting defence equipment will not only generate foreign exchange but also promote the country’s defence industry on the international stage. This proactive approach will contribute to the growth and sustainability of defence production sector while fostering economic development.
