Grenades attack on Army convoy leaves 7 civilians injured in NW

A hand grenade attack targeting a military convoy in North Waziristan tribal district resulted in serious injuries to at least seven civilians including children.

Reports reaching here said unknown militants hurled two hand grenades on a passing-by Army convoy in Mir Ali Bazaar of North Waziristan. The explosives, however, missed the target and hit the civilian vehicles plying on the road at the same time.
Reports said two civilian vehicles were damaged in the attack leaving at least seven locals seriously wounded. A child was also included among the injured.

“The hand grenades instead hit the civilian vehicles though the target appeared to be the military convoy”. Local officials said adding the victims were rushed to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Mir Ali where the medics provided them medical aid saying their condition was out of danger.
The security forces are reported to have kicked of hunt for the terrorists responsible for the attack, yet they remained at large.
