Grenade thrown on ex-KP minister Javed’s house

Unidentified men have hurled a hand grenade on former provincial minister Haji Javed’s house in Peshawar. Police told the media that a grenade was hurled by unidentified men on the rooftop of former minister Haji Javed’s house in the Gulbahar neighbourhood of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) capital. The assailants managed to flee from the scene.

Fortunately, the grenade did not blow on the rooftop. The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was summoned to the scene whose personnel defused the grenade.

Police said a search operation was started in the area to arrest the culprits. Former provincial Minister Haji Javed survived an attempt to harm him and his family on Sunday. Police said unidentified miscreants hurled a hand grenade on the house of Haji Javed who served the provincial capital many times in the capacity of minister for Information, Minister of or housing and Physical Planning and Minister for education in the Pakistan Muslim League governments in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. However, the attack remained abortive and Haji Javed and his family members remained safe. Police told media that a grenade was hurled by unidentified men on the rooftop of former minister Haji Javed’s house in the Gulbahar a posh locality of the town.
