Govt urged to slash imports in order to reduce trade deficit


Business community has urged the government to declare an economic emergency in the country and immediately impose restrictions on the import of unnecessary items for five years, including import of vehicles to save the precious foreign exchange.

They have also expressed serious concern on the current economic situation and urged the political parties to forget differences and work for the betterment of the country’s economy as political instability is directly hurting the foreign investment in the country.
