Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore chapter organized a protest demonstration against the rising cleanliness and environmental issues of the provincial metropolis at Multan Chungi on Friday.
JI Pakistan Secretary General Ameerul Azim and Lahore chapter Emir Zikrullah Mujahid addressed the gathering. A large number of people participated in the demonstration, demanding the Buzdar government pay heed to the issues of the city which had turned into heap of garbage.
‘The city of colleges and flowers is presenting an ugly picture. People are unable to take breath in poisonous and polluted air of the metropolitan,’ said Azim, demanding the government either to resolve the problems of the inhabitants of Lahore or get ready to face massive protests.
He said the PTI government multiplied the problems of the people instead of resolving them. Inflation, unemployment and pollution turned miserable the life of the millions. He said a vast majority of the Lahorites were even deprived of clean drinking water facility.
The participants raised slogans against inability of the PTI government and demanded for the solution of their problems.
