Govt trying to up corona testing capability

Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid has said government is taking all possible steps to increase coronavirus testing capability.
Talking to media on Tuesday, she said seven ‘Bio-Safety Level (BSL) three’ laboratories are already working in Punjab and work is also in progress to establish three more such facilities to conduct coronavirus tests.
She said lock down is being converted into smart lock down to facilitate the people. The minister said that the provincial government will be able to carry out 4,000 to 5,000 coronavirus tests on daily basis.
However, efforts are being made to further enhance the test capacity across the province, she added.
Dr Yasmin told that Lahore is the worst-hit Punjab’s city by the pandemic with 1384 cases.
It is to be mentioned here that 5,640 coronavirus cases have been reported in Punjab, 91 people have lost their lives while 1,306 have been sent back to their houses after recovering from the pandemic.
