Special Assistant to CM on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Tuesday said that the government is committed to providing better and timely services to the people at their doorstep, adding that “Khidmat Apki Dehleez Per” program is being launched to make the service delivery mechanism more effective and useful.
Addressing a press conference here, Dr Firdous said that Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has directed all the bureaucracy to resolve people’s problems on a priority basis.
The district administrations and other public service departments have also been
directed to rectify their attitudes and make them people friendly to provide relief to the people, she said.
The SACM said that an application is being introduced to make this program effective which aims at monitoring the redressal of people’s problems.
The program cannot become successful without the support of the people as public feedback and
positive suggestions are part and parcel of this program, she said.
Dr Firdous said the program will comprise of fifteen weeks including the local bodies week, cleanliness week, special campaign week, eid week, plantation week, road safety week, beautification week, law and order week, and last but not the least price control week which is being started in April 2021.
Every week has been designated as per the basic needs of the people, she further said.
The SACM said that the Chief Secretary, the IGP, Administrative Secretaries and officials of other departments will discharge their duties and responsibilities at their respective levels and strict disciplinary action will be taken against officers and officials failing to deliver and no leniency will be tolerated in this regard.
She said that best performers will be awarded while action will be taken on poor performance.
Responding to a question, the SACM said that some of our ignorant brothers want to force the government to implement such decisions which are not possible at the international level.
They do not know how many Pakistanis are living in France and
earning foreign exchange.
She said the federal government is dealing with the situation in the best possible manner while the responsibility of the Punjab government is to ensure the protection of lives and properties of the people and action will be
taken against those who will violate the law.
To another question, she said that Jahangir Tareen and MPAs and MNAs siding with him belong to the same PTI family.
She said that blood is not thicker than water in the city-state of Madina as all are equal before PM Imran Khan.
In the Riyasat-e-Madina, the government and the rulers are always answerable to the citizens. Imran Khan believes that Jahangir Tareen has the right to defend himself in court. If anyone has any reservation then we can sit and discuss it together instead of
mudslinging each other on media.
