Punjab Minister for Human Rights and Minority Affairs Ejaz Alam Augustine on Monday said that International Women’s Day makes us realize that women are an important part of our society and it is duty of all of us to ensure the provision of equal rights with the elimination of all forms of violence.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, the provincial government has taken historic steps for the elimination of gender discrimination, protection of women’s rights and socio-economic empowerment of women. Ejaz Alam said that the measures taken for women during PTI rule can be scene while numerous awareness campaigns have been launched including establishment of day care centers in institutions, facility of Punjab Women Helpline 1043 to guide women for solving all kinds of problems.
He further said that effective legislation was being enacted in the Punjab Assembly for protection of women’s rights and prevention of violence against them. The provincial minister further said that representation of women at all levels was being ensured and it was fact that the dream of prosperity of beloved country Pakistan and empowering women only come true after provide the equal opportunities while the role of women in the development of Pakistan is commendable.
