ISLAMABAD –  Prime Minister reappointed Pasand Khan Buledi as Chairman of the Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) as the federal issued orders of transfers and postings of different senior officers.

According to a notification issued by the Establishment Division, several key positions have been filled.  Abdul Razzaq was appointed as Director General (DG) Civic Management, Allah Sheikh was posted as DG Design, Khalid Mahmood would serve as DG Procurement and Contracts, Khalid Nawaz appointed as DG Vigilance while Faisal Raza was appointed as DG Works and Maintenance.

Besides it, Ashiq Ali Sheikh was given additional charge as Director of the Central Engineering Laboratory.

The said appointments aim to enhance the efficiency and performance of key government departments.

Moreover, in a significant development for federal bureaucrats, the federal government decided to convene a High-Powered Selection Board meeting to approve promotions of officers from Grade-21 to Grade-22.

The meeting, to be chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, is expected to approve the promotion of 20 officers.

According to government sources, the High-Powered Selection Board meeting is scheduled for the first week of December.

The last meeting of the board was held in April 2023. It is anticipated that these promotions would bring stability and end ad-hocism at the top levels of the federal bureaucracy.

The PM’s office informed the Establishment Division about the upcoming meeting and directed it to finalize the working paper for the session.
