Govt ready to negotiate with surrendered bandits: Sharjeel

Sindh Senior Minister SharjeelInamMemon has stated that the bandits should surrender. He indicated that those not involved in serious crimes would be given an opportunity to surrender, after which the government may engage in talks with them.

Memon added that captured bandits should also repent, and they will be given an opportunity. A joint operation by police and rangers is currently underway in the Katcha area. In a meeting held in Sukkur, chaired by President Asif Ali Zardari, all relevant agencies, including Rangers and police, briefed the President on their performance. Talking to the media at the media corner of the Sindh Assembly, Sindh Senior Minister SharjeelInamMemon stated that in the meeting presided over by President Asif Ali Zardari, it was also decided that reconciliation committees should be formed to address tribal disputes, and that these disputes should be resolved. He said that innocent lives are lost in tribal disputes, and tribal chiefs will be mobilized to resolve these disputes and guide people on the right path. If drug dealers also repent, the government will offer them concessions.

The Sindh government’s policy against drugs is based on zero tolerance. Senior Minister SharjeelInamMemon stated that the message from President Zardari’s meeting is clear: criminals should surrender and engage in dialogue with the government. The government will not tolerate any abuse against them and will deal with them according to the law. The first meeting with President of PaksitanAsif Ali Zardari was also significant regarding drugs and law and order, and the meeting held in Sukkur was particularly important.

Sindh Senior Minister SharjeelInamMemon said that street crime in Karachi was also discussed in the meeting, and the data on street crime from January and May was compared, revealing that the situation has significantly improved. SharjeelInamMemon said that the government of Sindh has already issued orders for modern weapons for the Sindh police, and these weapons have started to be received. The police are being equipped with modern arms, and police personnel are being given privileges.

This was part of President Asif Ali Zardari’s long-standing vision, and due to his vision, the morale of the police force is increasing. In response to a question, he said that the federal government will propose an operation against terrorists. The Sindh government has always supported every good initiative. The People’s Party is not part of the federal government, but it does not want chaos and anarchy in the country.

In response to another question, he said that the Sardars will be engaged wherever necessary in terms of law and order. The Sindh government will explore all possible options to eradicate crime.In response to another question, Senior Minister SharjeelInamMemon said that a heat wave is affecting the province.  The government has set up cooling centers and informed people about precautionary measures. Regarding the rain emergency across Sindh, the management is fully prepared to face any situation. In response to another question, he said that regardless of the chief minister’s party affiliation, it is better to cooperate with the federation. Despite significant concerns, we are cooperating with the federation. Whatever apprehensions the KP Chief Minister has, he must also work with the federation. He emphasized the need for harmony and unity in the country, stating that if the Chief Minister of KPK continues to follow the founding philosophy of PTI, it will be detrimental to the nation.
