In response to remarks made by the opposition leader of MQM in the Sindh Assembly, Provincial Minister for Culture, Tourism, Antiquities, and Archives, Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah, has strongly criticized the allegations and asserted the government’s commitment to combating land grabbing activities. Minister Shah denounced the opposition leader’s statements, suggesting they arose in response to the Sindh government’s crackdown on the land mafia.
He emphasized that the practice of “China Cutting” was originally introduced by MQM, highlighting a historical context that seems overlooked by the opposition. Issuing a stern warning to the opposition leader, Minister Shah urged against baseless accusations aimed at undermining the Sindh Government’s efforts. He reaffirmed the government’s resolve to reclaim Karachi’s lands from the grip of land mafia, referring to past instances where collusion between authorities and vested interests allowed unchecked urban development. Minister Zulfiqar Ali Shah reiterated the government’s zero-tolerance stance towards land grabbers, emphasizing ongoing efforts to dismantle the building mafia and curb illicit activities such as China cutting.
