ISLAMABAD – The federal government on Wednesday finalized the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the proposed doorstep passport delivery service, ensuring a streamlined and secure distribution process.
The decision was taken during a high-level meeting chaired by Director General Immigration and Passports Muhammad Ali Randhawa, which reviewed the progress of the Immigration and Passport Department’s digital application and ongoing reforms.
The officials said the initiative aims to modernize passport services and reduce the need for citizens to visit passport offices repeatedly. The new system will allow passports to be delivered directly to applicants at their homes after processing.
The federal government is expected to announce the formal rollout of the service after completion of necessary technical and administrative preparations.
On June 5, 2026, Director General Immigration and Passports Muhammad Ali Randhawa stated that the home delivery system for passports will be made more transparent and effective from July 1, providing faster and improved services to citizens at their doorsteps.
He stated this during his visit to passport sections where he also interacted with citizens to hear their complaints and issues firsthand.
During the visit, he directed the concerned authorities to immediately resolve public grievances and ensure better service delivery.
He also issued instructions to further improve and make passport services more efficient.
Officials were told to strengthen the passport delivery system so that citizens can receive their passports at home. Courier companies have been directed to ensure timely doorstep delivery of passports.
He emphasized that modern and citizen-friendly passport services remain a top priority of the government.
