ISLAMABAD – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has not been arrested by paramilitary troops in Islamabad, the government officials said amid contrasting reports of his arrest.

Initial reports said Rangers held Gandapur and legal proceedings are underway against the confidante of Imran Khan.

Thousands of workers of Imran Khan’s party rushed to capital city amid shelling of tear gas and assault.

Federal authorities took preventive measures by digging trenches and placing iron nails on sections of several roads to obstruct their progress.

PTI accused ruling party PML-N of orchestrating heavy tear gas attacks at D-Chowk, sharing purported video evidence to support their claims.

Despite the obstructions, PTI vowed to continue protesters at D-Chowk, urging party members to avoid damaging public property. He claimed that plain-clothed security personnel were attempting to provoke such incidents, reminiscent of the unrest seen on May 9.

Party members also appealed to building owners in the Blue Area to prevent police from deploying on their rooftops, warning that they might use tear gas against peaceful protesters.
