Govt decides to complete M6 at faster pace

Sindh Government has decided to complete the Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway M6 on priority basis and decided to post Land Acquisition Officers in Hyderabad, ShaheedBenazirabad and Sukkur divisions to expedite the land acquisition process for M6 Motorway.

This was decided in an important meeting regarding M6 Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway under the chairmanship of Sindh Chief Secretary Dr. Muhammad Sohail Rajput. The meeting was attended by Senior Member Board of Revenue BaqaullahUnar, Secretary Finance Sajid Jamal Abro, Secretary Forest Dr. BadarJamilMandhro, Commissioner Hyderabad Bilal Ahmed Memon, officials of NHA and concerned Deputy Commissioner.

Addressing the meeting, Chief Secretary Sindh Dr. Muhammad Sohail Rajput said that M6 Motorway is an important project and for this the acquisition of land in Hyderabad and ShaheedBenazirabad will be completed on priority basis.

To complete the M6 project at a faster pace, the meeting decided to appoint Land Acquisition Officers and for this SMBR and Commissioners have been directed to recommend senior officers for this purpose. The Chief Secretary directed the Senior Member Board of Revenue and Divisional Commissioners to supervise the land acquisition process.

In the meeting Commissioner Hyderabad Bilal Ahmad Memon informed that permission has been given to the NHA to start work on the motorway in Hyderabad and Jamshoro districts.

In the meeting, NHA officials informed that the work on the motorway will be started from Jamshoro and Rohri sides so that the M6 motorway can be completed within 24 months. He further informed that a bridge will be built between Jamshoro and Hyderabad on the river Indus. It was further informed in the meeting that the forest department will plant saplings along the M6 motorway.
