Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar has said that the government believes in strengthening all the institutions including Parliament. The government under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan is taking steps for the development, strength and prosperity of the country. The country is facing other challenges including economic issues due to corona, he added.
He was talking to Senate Deputy Chairman Saleem Mandiwala who called on him at Governor’s House on Wednesday. The political situation in county, corona and other issues were discussed during the meeting.
The governor said that to unite is the only way to counter such a dangerous epidemic.
He said that the government was ensuring transparency and merit to strengthen other institutions including parliament as the strengthening of institutions would strengthen Pakistan.
Despite the most difficult economic conditions, the government was able to improve the lives of the people without any political distinction under the Ehsas Programme.
We will not leave the poor people alone. Opposition parties should also give up their protest attitude and play their positive role inside and outside the parliament. Whatever the opposition suggests for the development and prosperity of the country the government will welcome it.
Senate Deputy Chairman Saleem Mandviwala said that we always play our role for the strengthening of parliament and we will continue to play our full role for the strengthening of democracy.
On the occasion, Governor Sarwar and Deputy Chairman Saleem Mandviwala appealed to the people to follow the SOPs to protect the cattle markets from corona during Eid and Muharram. People must do it so that they themselves are protected from corona and others from the epidemic.
Universities Chancellor Chaudhry Sarwar has announced an important decision to remove obstacles in the affairs of universities. It is mandatory for any government official to forward the university file within 10 days at most. A 10-day limit has also been imposed on the Chief Secretary’s Office.
According to details, Governor Sarwar would take stern notice of delays in various files of government departments and make important decisions in this regard.
A letter has been issued to all government departments stating that whenever the file regarding the affairs of all the universities including Aitchison College, Lawrence College, Cadet Colleges, Sadiq Public School is sent to any government official, it should be given a maximum of 10 days. Bureaucracy will be bound to take any decision in this regard and forward it to the concerned department.
This restriction will be applicable to all departments including law department, health department, industry department and agriculture department. If concerned officer will keep it for longer than Strict disciplinary action will be taken against him. It will also be necessary for the office of the Chief Secretary to send the file to the concerned department within the stipulated time.
