Governor, UNFPA discuss maternal, child health improvements

Governor Sindh Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori welcomed a three-member delegation from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) at the Governor House on Fridy. The delegation was led by Dr. LuayShabaneh, UNFPA’s representative in Pakistan. The meeting focused on ongoing efforts and future plans to improve maternal and child health services in the province.

Governor Tessori emphasized the critical need for effective measures to reduce maternal and child mortality rates during childbirth. He praised Dr. Shabaneh and the UNFPA team for their continuous support and dedication to this cause. “Empowering women and encouraging them at all levels is essential,” said Tessori. He further expressed the current government’s commitment to addressing health challenges in collaboration with UNFPA.

The meeting underscored the importance of sustained efforts and strategic partnerships to enhance healthcare services for mothers and children across Sindh.
