Governor Sindh and Chancellor of Dawood Engineering University, Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori, has urged the youth to shed negative thinking, adopt a positive outlook, and take bold steps to end outdated systems in the country. Speaking at the 12th convocation of Dawood Engineering University at Governor House, he emphasized that the future of Pakistan lies in the hands of its youth. Addressing the audience, Governor Tessori said, “Pakistan is brimming with talent and resources, but the youth must take charge to eliminate the old and ineffective systems.
Parents should encourage their daughters and support their growth.” He added that the achievements of female students should not be confined to degrees and gold medals; they must be given opportunities to excel in practical fields. Highlighting the initiatives taken under his leadership, Tessori shared that Governor House offers free modern IT courses to 50,000 students, which would otherwise cost up to Rs. 800,000 in the market. He reiterated that the doors of Governor House are open 24/7 for the youth, and those facing difficulties can ring the “Bell of Hope” to seek solutions. Expressing concern over the condition of Karachi, the Governor said, “Karachi is the economic hub of Pakistan, but it is plagued with garbage, potholes, and reckless dump trucks.”
He lamented the city’s unemployment crisis despite many youths holding degrees. “To overcome these challenges, we must become each other’s saviors and take collective responsibility,” he urged. Governor Tessori announced that December 24 will be celebrated as Muhajir Culture Day to honor the contributions and sacrifices of the Muhajir community. “This day will highlight the efforts of our elders before and after the creation of Pakistan and provide an opportunity to celebrate their legacy,” he said.
