Governor Sindh Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori hosted a meeting at the Governor House with United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Regional Director Pio Smith, who was accompanied by a delegation including UNFPA Country Representative Dr. Luay Shabani and other members. During the meeting, Governor Tessori emphasized that the government prioritizes human development and providing essential services.
He commended UNFPA’s vital role in Pakistan, particularly in achieving sustainable development goals, and praised the organization’s efforts in women’s health and maternal care. Regional Director Pio Smith reaffirmed UNFPA’s commitment to impactful actions in Pakistan. Later, the UNFPA delegation accompanied Governor Tessori to visit the historic office of Pakistan’s founder, Quaid-e-Azam, where they observed various artifacts used by the founder.
The delegation acknowledged the importance of Governor Tessori’s welfare initiatives, particularly the free IT courses aimed at providing modern education to the youth, fostering a brighter future and economic stability.
