Lauds services of Zahid Malik in education, journalism

Governor of Punjab Baleegh-ur-Rehman has said that the current inflation being faced by the masses was due to the wrong policies of the PTI government and the present government has the strategy to pull the masses out of this crisis in the near future.
He expressed these views while talking to Editor-in-Chief daily Pakistan Observer, Faisal Zahid Malik on Monday in the former’s office.

He said that the government was working day and night for the welfare of the masses and he was very much confident that sooner or later people will be provided with relief in every aspect.
During meeting the governor paid rich tributes to the services of the late Zahid Malik, the former Editor-in-Chief of Daily Pakistan Observer. He said that Pakistan Observer has contributed a lot in the field of education and international issues like CPEC.
He was of the view that Pakistan Observer was following the footsteps of Zahid Malik who contributed a lot in different fields apart from balanced and sober journalism. To a question about the caretaker government of Punjab, he said that it is a provincial subject and there was a provision in the law to extend the caretaker government tenure under special circumstances.
He said that what happened on May 9 was condemnable and unprecedented. He said that what the enemy could not do during the last 75 years was done by a political party.
He was of the view that CPEC was a game-changer project and Pakistan Observer projected and promoted it in a very clear way. About the tenure of the present federal government, he said that it would complete its term in August, and after that another deferral caretaker government would be formed and general elections would be held.
He was of the view that there was a provision in the constitution that the election date could be extended under special circumstances like poor law and order situation in the country.
He said that there were examples in the country in this regard. In the end, he lauded the services of Pakistan Observer and paid rich tributes to Zahid Malik for his balanced journalism and for setting news traditions in this field.
