Governor Sindh Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori has officially launched a tree plantation campaign by planting a sapling at the Governor’s House. The event, attended by various dignitaries including consuls general, university vice-chancellors, industrialists, doctors, and celebrities, marked the beginning of a province-wide green initiative. The UAE Consul General also announced a donation of 1,000 trees for the Governor’s House. During the event, memorandums of understanding (MOUs) were signed between the Governor’s House, FG RF, and Unity Foods Limited. Governor Tessori emphasized the importance of collective efforts in combating global warming through increased tree planting, urging schools and students to participate actively.
Additionally, Governor Tessori announced plans for a grand celebration of Independence Day, promising a vibrant event at the Governor’s House on August 14. The festivities will include a cake-cutting ceremony, fireworks, and a music night featuring RahatFateh Ali Khan and AtifAslam.
The event will also see the distribution of 100,000 flags and 50,000 badges. In a subsequent media interaction, Governor Tessori addressed ongoing issues, indicating progress on resolving IPP matters. He also responded to questions about political protests, expressing openness to dialogue with Jamaat-e-Islami while encouraging them to avoid disrupting public services and businesses.
