Governor Sindh Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori announced the commencement of a 24-hour ration distribution initiative from the Governor House, aimed at distributing ration bags to over two million underprivileged individuals. During a media briefing at the Governor House on Saturday, Tessori stated that the distribution would be an ongoing effort, with an initial order placed for 9,000 solar systems to be provided to households consuming less than 300 units of electricity.
Tessori shared that, so far, 690,000 people have already received ration bags. Since the Governor House doors were opened to the public, approximately 3 million individuals have visited, and 8,000 laptops have been distributed to youth. Additionally, 50,000 young people are undergoing free IT courses.
Governor Tessori emphasized the importance of perseverance and collaboration, noting that despite limited resources, they are serving the public with the support of generous donors.
He invited the public to celebrate Independence Day at the Governor House, promising a day filled with festivities, including a cake-cutting ceremony, the national anthem, and fireworks. Tessori called on everyone to contribute to enhancing Pakistan’s honor, dignity, and economy. Furthermore, Tessori extended an invitation to Jamaat-e-Islami, offering access to ration bags, laptops, and IT course admissions. He expressed willingness to join their protest if they raised their voices on issues like inflation, electricity, and water shortages.
The Governor highlighted the non-political nature of the Governor House, noting that the ongoing IT courses have been free from political influence, with the focus solely on empowering youth as economic soldiers for their families.
