200 couples tie-knot at governor house

Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that government has no threat from any quarter and it will complete its five years of constitutional term under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan. Those dreaming of in-house change and early election will get nothing except sheer disappointment. He said, we do believe in strengthening of institutions but not in their clash, and all the institutions including NAB are working independently.
He expressed these views while talking to the reporters after patronizing a mass-wedding ceremony at governor house in which 200 couples were wedded. Each couple was given dowry worth Rs 200,000 and Governor also presented cash ‘Salami’ to them and The Holy Quran as gift. Addressing the ceremony, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that well-off and rich people will not be remembered in the world history but those who served the humanity. We are adhering to the policy of ‘one Pakistan: not the two’. Any sort of sacrifice will not be denied for rule of law and the constitution.
According to details, Governor Punjab attended the mass-wedding ceremony in a suburban area, Goth Shah Muhammad, Tehsil Khairpur Tameynwali, District Bahawalpur, while PTI Provincial Deputy General Secretary Chaudhry Naeemuddin Warraich, Aleemudin Warraich, Kaleemuddin Warraich, Provincial minister Sami Ullah Ch, MNA Malik Farooq Azam, Ex MNA Jhanzaib Warran, Chaudhry Mohammad Usman, Zeshan Khilji and others were also present.
The mass-wedding was celebrated with pomp and show. Clad in bridle dresses, the brides were brought to the main ceremony in traditional manner by their respective families.
Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar and Chaudhry Naeemuddin Warraich welcomed the participants. In his address, he said, I am very happy that today our 200 daughters and sons have started their marital life. Surely, parents get very happy by performing their Farz (responsibility) of wedding their daughter and we are all praised to Allah Almighty. He lauded Chaudhry Naeemuddin Warriach for contributing towards this sacred deed.
Grade/status and power are temporary things but the real ulterior is one who helps the poor and helpless and Alhamdullilah, under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the PTI government has initiated Ehsas Programme. Under this programme, unemployed youth will also be provided with interest-free loans, while Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme has also been launched to provide shelter to homeless people.
He said that in order to provide free medical facilities to the poor patients, Sehat Insaf Card has been launched under which the card-holder can get free medical treatment worth more than Rs 700,000.
While talking to media persons on this occasion, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that opposition is doing politics of personal interests instead of national ones, and all the opposition parties are getting united just to save their corruption.
