LAHORE – Authorities in the port city of Karachi introduced new initiative, allowing citizens to apply for new driving licenses without visiting office, bringing convenience directly to the masses.
DIG Training and Licensing Iqbal Dara inaugurated the service with a visit to Pakistan Chowk, where mobile van is currently stationed. The official explained that mobile van was launched after the success of the DL branch and online services. A second van is also under preparation, which will further boost the accessibility of the services.
It was reported that these mobile vans are offering a range of services, including issuing learner’s permits, renewals, and non-commercial licenses. These services can also be accessed through the online portal, but the mobile vans are particularly beneficial for those who may not be familiar with or have access to the internet.
With the launch of new servicer, companies, offices, and even institutions can request mobile van to visit their location for services, DIG said. The van is currently receiving a positive response, especially from citizens who find it more convenient than the online process.
The initiative is expected to significantly ease the process for people, making it more accessible to a wider audience across the city. Earlier, the provincial government already introduced online services, nd mobile van is a major step forward in bringing even greater ease to citizens’ doorstep.
