KARACHI – Gold opened June with negative trend, slipping under pressure from global bullion market. The local market followed the same direction, pulling prices down to around Rs4.71 Lac per tola.
On Monday, the price of gold per tola dropped by Rs4,400, settling at Rs471,762 while 10-gram gold also followed the downward trend, falling by Rs3,773 to reach Rs404,459.

This drop comes just after a brief surge on Saturday, when gold prices had jumped by Rs1,300 per tola, pushing the rate up to Rs476,162 before the reversal.
On the global front, gold prices also slipped heavily, losing $44 per ounce to settle at $4,494, including a $20 premium.
In contrast to the bearish trend in gold, silver moved upward, gaining Rs46 per tola and reaching Rs8,059, showing a rare divergence in precious metal movements.
