International gold prices

The weakness in Pakistan’s gold market came alongside a fall in international bullion prices. The global price of gold slipped $38 per ounce to $4,308, putting additional pressure on domestic rates.

Gold prices in Pakistan generally track movements in the international market, while currency fluctuations can also influence the local rupee-denominated rate.

Silver Prices

Silver also recorded a decline during Monday’s trading. The price of silver decreased by Rs122 per tola, bringing it down to Rs6,802.

The latest movement marks another session of volatility in Pakistan’s precious metals market, with investors and buyers closely watching both international bullion prices and developments affecting the domestic currency and economy.

Gold Price In Pakistan Drops To Rs4 53 Lac Per Tola After Negative Week Opening

Gold prices have remained highly volatile in 2026, although the precious metal is broadly flat on a year-to-date basis as of mid-September.

Gold surged to a record intraday high of nearly $5,600 per ounce in late January, driven by strong safe-haven demand. Prices then retreated through the spring, hitting a low of around $3,975–$4,000 in June.

The metal recovered some of those losses in the following months and is now trading around $4,290–$4,330 per ounce as of September 14, 2026.

More recently, gold has faced pressure from higher oil prices and expectations of tighter US monetary policy, leaving prices weaker over the past few weeks after their strong gains earlier in the year.

Despite the recent pullback, gold remains around 17% to 20% higher than a year ago.
