A day after rallying around one percent, the gold prices remained flat in the international market on Thursday.

Gold in the international market was available at $1,805.90 per ounce after gaining $0.90 as of 1245 hours GMT.

The price of 10 grams of yellow metal in Pakistan, meanwhile, jumped to Rs103,600 after gaining Rs800.

The increase in local gold price was due to overnight change in the international prices, as the gold price surged at the end of the session a day earlier at a time when the local market was closed. Encouraging studies on the new Omicron Covid variant is boosting risk appetite, capping the renewed upside in the US dollar.
