LAHORE – Female students have secured higher success rates than male candidates in both Science and Humanities groups in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Part II First Annual Examination 2026 conducted by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore.
Official data showed girls recorded better pass percentages than boys among both regular and private candidates.
Girls Lead in Science Group Results
In the Science Group, female candidates achieved an overall pass percentage of 77.83%, compared with 60.21% for male students.
A total of 217,482 candidates appeared in the Science Group examination. Out of these, 150,566 students successfully passed, resulting in an overall pass percentage of 69.23%.
Among regular candidates, girls secured an 87.16% pass rate, while boys recorded 76.84%. The overall pass percentage for regular candidates stood at 82.50%.
Private female candidates also performed better, achieving a pass percentage of 64.61%, compared with 43.11% for private male candidates. The combined pass percentage for private candidates was 53.18%.
Female Candidates Maintain Lead in Humanities Group
Girls also remained ahead of boys in the Humanities Group, where they recorded an overall pass percentage of 57.02%, compared with 32.51% for male candidates.
A total of 64,826 candidates appeared in the Humanities Group examination, with 31,620 students passing. The overall pass percentage for the group was recorded at 48.78%.
Among regular candidates, female students achieved a pass percentage of 64.97%, while male students recorded 45.39%. The combined pass percentage for regular candidates was 61.29%.
In the private category, girls secured a pass percentage of 48.25%, surpassing boys who recorded 28.44%. The overall private candidates’ pass percentage stood at 39.38%.
