Girl students win prizes in Covid-19 awareness poster contest

Deputy Commissioner Sanghar, Dr. Imran-ul-Hassan Khuwaja at his office in Sanghar bestowed prizes and appreciation certificates to the winners of COVID-19 awareness poster competition for the children in Sanghar on Saturday.
The poster completion was initiated by Research and Development Foundation (RDF) with the assistance of Kindernothilfe (KNH) in collaboration with District administration Sanghar.
Baby girl Kashaf from Tando Adam acquired first prizes of PKR. 20,000, another baby girl Shazia of 5th class from a girls school Tando Adam secured second prize of PKR. 15000 and Bilal of primary school got third prize of PKR. 10,000. Poster completion was an effort to engage students in learning and productive activities during pandemic period, as the COVID has significantly impacted the life of children besides its widespread losses to different walks of life.
Deputy Commissioner Sanghar, Dr. Imran Ul Hassan Khuwaja while talking with children highly appreciated their engagement in learning activities adding he said that these were the healthier activities in these difficult times keeping children busy being at home. It is indeed a more difficult time for the children they were passing through, as schools were closed and learning of children was affected.
Mr. Ashfaque Soomro, Executive Director of RDF, while talking on the occasion said that the fear of pandemic creates emotional imbalance among children, which could have a long lasting impact on children adding that RDF is trying to facilitate children and their parents to overcome this fear. RDF is implementing a Child Centered COVID response activities in district Sanghar with the assistance of Kindernothilfe (KNH) to control spread of the Coronavirus and engage students in productive activities.
