GILGIT – An anti-terrorism court has sentenced Gilgit-Baltistan’s former chief minister Khalid Khurshid to 34 years in prison in a case involving threatening state institutions.
ATC Judge Rahmat Shah announced the verdict while imposing a fine of Rs600,000 on Khurshi, who served as chief minister from December 2020 to July 2023 during the PTI rule.
The court has also ordered the arrest of Khalid Khurshid wherever he is found.
Furthermore, the National Database and Registration Authority has been instructed to block Khalid Khurshid’s national identity card.
The former chief minister had made a speech earlier this year at a public gathering in Gilgit, where he had threatened the state institutions.
