Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, on Tuesday, paid rich tribute to the nursing community, paramedical staff, and all professionals associated with the healthcare sector.
Addressing a ceremony held in connection with International Nurses Day, he stated that education and health are among the sectors closest to his heart, emphasising that the provision of quality healthcare and education is indispensable for building a strong, developed, and prosperous Pakistan.
The Chairman of the Senate said that hospitals in Pakistan should be equipped with such high standards that citizens would no longer need to travel abroad for medical treatment.
He highlighted that the establishment of Mukhtiar Hospital in Multan was aimed at providing state-of-the-art healthcare facilities to the public. He remarked that the nursing profession serves as the backbone of the medical field, as nurses not only care for patients under the most challenging circumstances but also provide hope, courage, and confidence to their families.
He said that the services rendered by the nursing community are a great asset to humanity, and the entire nation salutes their sacrifices and tireless dedication.
