The International Day of Persons with Disabilities was observed in Hafizabad, on Saturday. In this connection, a walk was arranged in District Complex and gifts were distributed among children with Disabilities on this occasion.
Assistant Commissioner Coordination Ishfaq Ahmad was led the walk and students of government special education school and prominent people participated the walk. Students were carrying plea cards and banners inscribed with slogans regarding International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Addressing on this occasion, AC Ishfaq Ahmad said that district administration and the Punjab government is focusing on providing equal opportunities to the persons with disabilities in all aspects of life.
The persons with disabilities have God Gifted abilities and they can play their role in national progress and prosperity with nominal cooperation of the social circles and common people, he said and urged the prominent people and social workers to provide opportunities and take all measures to promote an understanding of disability issues, mobilize support for their dignity, rights and well-being and enhance their accessibility to public places.
