Ghani vows to uphold town boundaries amid disputes

Minister for Local Government, Housing, Town Planning, and Public Health Engineering, and Chairman of the Local Government Commission, SaeedGhani chaired a meeting on Friday, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the integrity of town boundaries. He assured that the Local Government Commission will make every effort to ensure that all rights are protected according to the constitution and laws.

The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary Sindh Syed Khalid Hyder Shah, members Abdul Rahim, Ali Ahmed Baloch, WaseemUsmani, DG Commission Abubakar Ahmed, member Election Commission Abdul Rehman, Officer Election Commission KhudaBux, and other officials. A detailed discussion was held on the boundary dispute between Korangi and Shah Faisal Towns.

Members from the Provincial Election Commission clarified that there is no difference between the notifications issued by the Sindh Government and the Election Commission regarding the boundaries. SaeedGhani stated, “Our effort will be to ensure that the boundaries of each town remain with that town.” It was agreed in the meeting that until a judicial decision is reached and both towns agree for the commission to make a decision, the matter will be deferred to the next meeting. Sindh Minister SaeedGhani highlighted the collective effort required to resolve this issue, emphasizing the need to provide the public with their rightful claims. All participants concurred on taking all necessary actions in accordance with legal and constitutional requirements.
