Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani has directed all relevant authorities to intensify efforts for the early completion of Karachi’s K-IV bulk water supply project. Chairing a key meeting on the Karachi Water and Sewerage Improvement Project (KWSIP) on Monday, Ghani emphasized the importance of expediting work on the critical initiative. He highlighted that the K-IV project would significantly enhance Karachi’s water supply system, addressing the city’s growing needs. “The Sindh government is fully committed to ensuring the timely completion of the K-IV project to meet Karachi’s bulk water requirements,” he said.
The meeting reviewed ongoing progress, discussed measures to augment the project, and addressed related challenges. Senior officials, including Additional Chief Secretary of the Local Government Department Syed Khalid Hyder Shah, KWSIP Project Director Usman Moazzam, CEO of Karachi Water & Sewerage Corporation Salahuddin, and KWSC Chief Operating Officer Asadullah Khan, attended the session. Ghani reaffirmed that the Sindh government’s resolve is aimed at fulfilling the water needs of Karachi residents through the project’s timely completion.
