Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani has announced that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP)-led provincial government is committed to delivering affordable and quality housing to citizens through the Malir Development Authority (MDA). Chairing a meeting on Saturday, Saeed Ghani revealed that a new housing initiative, MDA Homes, will soon be launched, offering 4,000 houses on a five-year installment plan.

He later visited ongoing projects at the New Malir Housing Scheme and Scheme 45 (Taiser Town) to review development progress. The MDA Homes project, located along the Northern Bypass, aims to construct 4,000 houses with unit sizes varying by location.

Taiser Town will feature 80 and 120-square-yard homes, while the New Malir Housing Scheme will offer 100 and 200-square-yard units. Accompanied by MDA Director General Saeed Jumani, Project Director Laiq Ahmed, and other officials, Mr. Ghani inspected ongoing infrastructure work at the sites. Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani reaffirmed the Sindh government’s commitment to ensuring that citizens, especially those affected by floods and urban displacement, gain access to affordable housing. Ghani emphasized that this initiative aligns with Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s vision and the PPP’s manifesto, which prioritizes housing for all.

“Our government is tirelessly working in line with the vision of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, and now Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to fulfill the PPP’s promise of ‘Roti, Kapra, aur Makan’ (Food, Clothing, and Shelter),” he stated. Beyond MDA Homes, various projects across Karachi and Sindh are in progress to provide affordable housing and free homes to those affected by floods and heavy rains.
