The Department of International Relations (IR) Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF) organized a Seminar titled ‘Regional Conflict and Its Impact on Global Politics: Russia vs. Ukraine and Israel vs. Ukraine’ at Sufi Barkat Ali Hall.
The attendance recorded a congregation of over 89 research scholars and faculty members of social sciences. The erudite discourse of Dr. Ghulam Mustafa, Prof. Dr. HussainShaheedSoherwordi, and Prof. Dr. Muqarrab Akbar not only dissected the geopolitical nuances but also cast a penetrating gaze upon the reverberating ripples cascading through the corridors of global politics, particularly within the purview of third-world nations.
Chairperson Department of International Relations GCUF Associated Professor Dr. Ghulam Mustafa said, “Regional conflicts in Ukraine and Palestine have had profound effects on global politics, with particularly significant repercussions for South Asia. These events underscore the urgent need for the international community to convene and collaboratively seek solutions.” Prof. Dr. HussainShaheedSoherwordi said, “Such conflicts as Palestine and Israel are indulged increase the probabilities of misinformation that create ambiguity among the other people which needs to be tackled rightly and rationally. Therefore, research students are responsible for producing such rational material with ample correct information.” He further added, “The global world is merely highlighting the causalities of Gaza and condemning the killing of innocent people but no one is proposing a two-state solution to resolve the conflict between Israel and Palestine.” Prof. Dr. Muqarrab Akbar said, “The conflict between Ukraine and Russia created a complicated context for Pakistan for deciding whether to stand with capitalist block or communist/socialist block.”
