GBTI organises workshop for farmers

Ghazi Barotha Taraqiati Idara (GBTI) was organised a farmers awareness workshop in village Salar Attock with the collaboration of “Ground Nut Research Centre, Attock” following the Sustainable Development Goal 2 “Zero Hunger”.

Farmers were given sessions on different topics to maximize their yields regarding ground nuts which included introduction of new techniques and high yield crop varieties, availability of appropriate seeds for barani area, land preparation, sharing knowledge regarding state of the art agri labs/testing facilities, inception of new efficient and modern technologies, interest free micro financing for poor farmers, top line agri equipment for utilization of farmers on rental basis.

Apart from this sessions on adaptation of new practices were also given on wheat and olive plantation.

Members of VDO Salar, local farmers and agriculture department participated in the event.

Principal Scientist, Sheraz with his team member Manzoor, Javaid Asst Director Agriculture Department and Dr. Sikandar, wheat specialist NARC were the main speakers of the workshop.
